The Expat Parser

Expat is extremely fast, and aims to be 100% compliant with the XML spec. It just checks documents for well-formedness, and forms the basis for the XML parser in the Mozilla and Gecko series of browsers that are Netscape's new line of browsers.

Obtaining and Using Expat

Expat is available either as the source code or as a binary version from http://www.jclark.com/xml/expat.html.

Expat will be in a zipped file that includes the source code; it is also available as a DLL and an executable. The latter two can be found in the bin directory as xmlparse.dll and xmlwf.exe.

xmlwf.exe is a standalone parser that can be run from the command line.
