Appendix A. A Guide to XML Acronyms
XML is a markup specification that's used to create markup languages, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that XML has spawned a lot of technologies whose names end in "ML". In fact, XML has been called an "acronym generator" by some, simply because it has resulted in the creation of so many new technologies with names shortened into acronyms. This appendix serves as guide to the many acronyms associated with XML.

I considered developing this appendix as an XML acronym FAQ, but then I would have felt compelled to add "FAQ" to the acronym list!
