Part I provides detail on the foundation of the W3C XML Schema Recommendation. This foundation includes, among other topics, the W3C recommendations that support the W3C XML Schema Recommendation.
Chapter 1 provides an overview of the various W3C recommendations that are the foundation for the XML Schema Recommendation. The terminology and concepts from the various recommendations coalesce into a discrete set of terms, which provide a handle with which to read the remainder of this book.
