24.7. annotation Element
The annotation element can be represented by either a column or a table comment. Refer to Listing 24.3 for an example. Note that a comment is limited to 4,000 characters and its datatype is VARCHAR2. This implies that the language cannot be specified in the comment (unless added to the comment itself) and the comment is restricted to 8-bit character sets such as ISO-Latin-8859-1.
