7.6. The appinfo Element

Only an annotation element can contain appinfo elements. The appinfo elements support automated processing of annotations—a discussion beyond the scope of this book. The following example demonstrates that the schema might support a mechanism for automatically creating source code that mirrors the XML schema document. One could, for example, create a program that extracts objects from the XML schema document in which each object mirrors a schema component.
