Chapter 11. Just Enough DOM

The DOM (Document Object Model) is a W3C initiative to standardize an API to both HTML and XML documents in a language-independent way. The DOM has its origins in Web browsers. A little history of Web browser evolution is useful in understanding what the DOM is and why it has been created.
