The xs:ID type provides
compatibility with the IDREF attribute type from XML 1.0 DTDs.
Like those IDREFs, the contents of the xs:IDREF type must start with a letter
and contain letters, digits, underscores, or colons, and the value
must match an xs:ID value
elsewhere in the document.
