The technology industry is full of acronyms, and the field of XML with its many acronym-named standards seems to have even more than average. Because of this phenomenon within XML and our own tendency to use acronyms from time to time rather than their often lengthy expansions, we provide a brief glossary of acronyms and their expanded names.
