Chapter 3: eXist Native XML Database
Wolfgang M. Meier founded eXist as an Open Source project in January 2001. He has been working with SGML/XML and databases for several years. After graduating from Frankfurt University in 1999 with a degree in sociology, he became a member of the TELOS working group at Darmstadt University of Technology, where he is involved with various projects in the field of digital libraries and XML-based information systems.
