S-HTTP (Secure HTTP)

A variant of HTTP that offers security for commercial transactions using authentication (the client is who they say they are) and encryption (the data cannot be read by other parties). Also called 'HTTPS'.

S{03} (Space)

A character with no visible appearance, used to separate words and markup parameters, and to break the document into convenient lines of text. Apart from the space character itself, ' ', this includes the horizontal tab character and the two characters commonly used to start a new text line (CR and LF).
