The structure of an XPath expression is described by hierarchies of charts. These charts are highly recursive, and it can be difficult to establish which are 'top-level' charts. Nevertheless, significant entry-points include LocationPath{1}, Predicate{8}, Expr{14}, ExprToken{28} and ExprWhitespace{39}. The table below lists the charts in the order that they are defined in the standard, and as they are presented in this chapter:
LocationPath | 14 Expr | 27 UnaryExpr |
AbsoluteLocationPath | 15 PrimaryExpr | 28 ExprToken |
RelativeLocationPath | 16 FunctionCall | 29 Literal |
Step | 17 Argument | 30 Number |
AxisSpecifier | 18 UnionExpr | 31 Digits |
AxisName | 19 PathExpr | 32 Operator |
NodeTest | 20 FilterExpr | 33 OperatorName |
Predicate | 21 OrExpr ... |
