XPointer
At its heart, the XPointer standard describes how to use XPath expressions as URL reference fragment identifiers.
XPointer identifier
A simple XPointer is identified using the xpointer() scheme as the URL reference fragment identifier:
http://.../xml/doc9.xml#xpointer(...)
This function contains an XPath expression, enhanced with the XPointer object types and functions explained below.
