Linking behaviour
The means by which a link can be activated, and its behaviour once it has been activated, can be influenced by attributes in the linking element.
The Actuate and Show attributes suggest which action to take, though they may be ignored by an application. These attribute can be used on simple-type elements, and on arc-type elements (see below), to describe the behaviour desired when accessing the resources that they identify as targets. However, note that these attributes are ignored when a link is made to a 'linkbase' (see below).
