Summary

In this chapter, I've touched on the other important standards and their importance in building systems with XML and SQL. These standards are constantly evolving, just as XML and SQL are, although at a slower pace. Keeping up with them can sometimes feel like a full-time job. You'll get halfway to developing an XML-derived language some time in your career, only to discover that it's already been developed by someone else. The way to avoid that happening is to frequent sites like www.w3.org, www.xml.com, and www.xml.org.
