Constant width

Used for code examples, code fragments, XML elements, and attributes.

Constant width bold

Used to highlight a section of code being discussed in the text.

Constant width italic

Used for replaceable elements in code examples.

In examples that involve XML Namespaces, the following conventions are used for namespace prefixes:

The namespace of XHTML, http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml

my

A prefix that represents an arbitrary user-defined namespace

xforms

The namespace of XForms, http://www.w3.org/2002/xforms

xs

The namespace of XML Schema, http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema

xsi

The namespace of XML Schema for Instances, http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance
