Network Addressing and Architecture

A concept that is difficult for some to understand is how a network’s architecture and addressing schemes can be used in a security program. Remember, we can set a goal of network survivability by requiring the network to transmit information even in the event of failures, attacks, or other mishaps. Network addressing and architecture can help meet these goals through policies that support diligent planning, paying close attention network addressing issues, and network expansion.
