Connectivity errors are a common problem on most networks. They can be caused by a wide variety of problems, from hardware malfunction to software configuration errors to malware. The first step for troubleshooting connectivity issues is to narrow the scope of the problem.

Local vs. Global

The starting point for troubleshooting a connectivity issue is determining whether it is a local issue or a network-wide problem.
