Industry-Specific Workforce Management Business Needs
IN THIS CHAPTER, SOME COMMON workforce management (WFM) business needs and issues are shared. Even though this sampling of concerns and sectors represent only a sampling of the workforce at large, many of the same timekeeping issues and needs are faced by employers across a wide range of industries. With this chapter, organizations can learn from and be inspired by relating the challenges, WFM implementations, and outcomes of others to their own. Among these issues are fatigue and cost management, overtime, reporting, and security. As the number of people and organizations using WFM systems—and in particular timekeeping technology and labor scheduling—grows, organizations and individuals will increasingly benefit from controlling costs, improving the workplace, and being relieved of the administrative burdens and risks.
