Customizing existing plugins

Use of other existing plugins is almost certain in WordPress site development. Often, these plugins don't fit directly for our needs, and hence the customization becomes an obvious choice. Understanding the use of data becomes even more crucial since some of these custom plugins lack documentation and code quality compared to core features. Customizing a plugin without knowing its data usage can lead to major conflicts compared to core features.
