Finding the Right Words
Repeating the same word in a document can reduce a message’s effectiveness. Instead, replace some words with synonyms or find antonyms. This feature can save you time and improve the quality and readability of your document. You can also select a Thesaurus for another language. Foreign language thesauruses can be accessed at the bottom of the Thesaurus pane (New!). If you have an App for Office dictionary installed—see the next topic for details—from the Office Store, a definition appears in the pane (New!). If you want to replace the selected word with a synonym or other available alternative, you can use a shortcut menu to insert it.
Use the Thesaurus
Select the text you want to look up.
