Edit Clear

Synopsis

The Clear command performs the same function as the Delete key. If any text is selected, Clear deletes that selection. If no text is selected, Clear deletes the character directly in front of the insertion point.

Cut, Don’t Delete

When you use Edit Clear, Delete, or Backspace, the deleted information is permanently removed from a document. Develop the habit of cutting items instead of deleting them, ensuring that the items are still available if a mistake is made.
