Research on entrepreneurs and managers has failed to find any consistent and systematic differences between women and men when it comes to leadership style and ability to organize. Some women entrepreneurs do exhibit specific preferences for choosing, organizing and managing their venture, and may define success in terms of goal achievement, a better work/family balance or community benefits as opposed to growth, profits and fame. Overall, however, research has documented a great diversity of approaches to leadership and organization on the part of women entrepreneurs (see Chapter 23 for a summary of research findings).
