Shooting Faith

Some of my best memories have been formed in places of spiritual seeking. Those churches in Ethiopia, the mosques of Kashmir, the gompas of Ladakh and Nepal. Perhaps it’s because I’m drawn so strongly to the people in these places that I feel akin to them, more prone to conversing. Perhaps it’s because I so narrowly missed becoming clergy myself that they see the respect I have for them. I don’t know. I just feel at home in these places with these people. In these places, I’ve found that people are slower, more prone to sitting and talking—if not to me then to the One who’s listening—and the photographic opportunities are not only numerous, they’re deep.
