The concept of resilience in business is important, because most enterprises, regardless of the industry in which they ply their trade, tend to be reactive as opposed to proactive regarding macroeconomic cycles. While reactivity is the norm, it is not the optimal path for corporate resilience and longevity; in fact, there is great risk in reacting to external forces or developments, unless the reaction is highly rehearsed.
