Summary

The two major steps to setting up a wireless NIC in your computers are installing the NIC itself (assuming one is not already built in to your computer or laptop) and creating a wireless profile so that the NIC can associate to your wireless router.

You can manage the wireless connections on your computers in one of a few different ways, including using the Windows Wireless Network Connection utility or using a separate program utility provided by the NIC manufacturer, such as the Linksys WLAN Monitor program. Use the Windows Wireless Network Connection utility unless the NIC requires its own program for some reason (see the installation documentation that comes with the NIC).
