What Happened to the Other Letters?
At this point you may be wondering what happened to the other revisions. As it turns out, the revisions to the 802.11 standard do not always involve new wireless standards. In many cases the revisions are updates to the communication protocols, which, by themselves, do not warrant a new wireless standard. For a complete list of the other revisions, check out Appendix C, “802.11 Additional Revisions,” which is provided for information purposes only. These updates have limited relevance for the home networking crowd.
