Name

Boot Configuration Manager — \windows\system32\bootcfg.exe

Synopsis

The Windows XP Boot Manager is responsible for supporting multiple operating systems on the same system. The Boot Configuration Manager, included only with Windows XP Professional, is used to configure and view entries in the Boot Manager configuration file (boot.ini). The syntax is as follows:

bootcfg /command [parameters]

Among the commands available to the Boot Configuration Manager, the more interesting are the /copy, /delete, and /query commands, used to add, remove, and view the entries in boot.ini, respectively. The /query command is the default; if you simply type bootcfg with no parameter, it's the same as typing bootcfg /query. Type bootcfg /? to see a list of all commands.
