Monitoring and Troubleshooting Printers

Printer troubleshooting can involve numerous considerations, including device problems such as paper jams, incompatible printer drivers, misconfigured printer settings, problems with the spooler service on the client or the print server, and more. Detailed procedures for troubleshooting printer problems are beyond the scope of this chapter and are not presented here. Instead, the following are some general considerations and recommendations regarding monitoring printers so that support personnel can quickly identify and respond to problems.
