Summary

This chapter provided step-by-step instructions for configuring MDT 2008 to deploy Windows Vista by using LTI or ZTI. LTI is a simple way to deploy Windows Vista in small- and medium-sized businesses. It requires no infrastructure and is very easy to set up and customize. ZTI requires SMS 2003 OSD or System Center Configuration Manager 2007 and a considerable amount of customization to be used effectively. It’s appropriate in large organizations that already have an SMS 2003 or System Center Configuration Manager 2007 infrastructure in place. In contrast to SMS 2003, which requires you to build images by using the Deployment Workbench, MDT 2008 integrates completely into System Center Configuration Manager 2007.
