Using BitLocker Drive Encryption

BitLocker Drive Encryption, a new feature of Windows Vista, can be used to encrypt entire volumes, which provides excellent protection against data theft. In the original release of Windows Vista, BitLocker can encrypt only the boot volume—the one with the Windows system files. With Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows Vista installed, BitLocker can protect other NTFS-formatted volumes as well.
