Use Password Protection

Another option in the Network and Sharing Center is Password Protected Sharing. It has two settings, on and off. When password-protected sharing is on, people on your network who have a user account and a password on this computer can access shared files, share printers on this computer, and access the Public folder. If you want other people to be able to access these items, specifically those who do not have a user account and password on this computer, you’ll need to turn the Password Protected Sharing option off.
