Apply Parental Controls in Xbox 360

By default, Xbox 360 video game systems are set to play all content. So if you want to limit the types of games that can be played on your Xbox 360 system, you’ll need to establish some parameters. You can also select separate parental controls for games and DVD movies.

When you share an Xbox, it’s a good idea to set up Family Settings. These let you decide what your kids can play—both online and off—and allow you to set pass codes and levels of protection so that your kids aren’t exposed to images you don’t want them to be.

To establish settings for your family, follow these steps on your Xbox 360:

  1. Go to the Xbox Dashboard.

  2. Go to the System tab.

  3. Select Family Settings.
