Sync Portable Devices

Before you can sync media to a portable device, you need to be sure the device is set up for Media Player. This is easy to do, and Media Player will prompt you the first time it senses a device that needs to be set up.

You can add many kinds of portable devices, including handheld computers, MP3 players, portable audio or video players, and digital cameras. If the device uses Bluetooth, you’ll need to add a Bluetooth adapter to your computer if you don’t have one. Most other devices use a universal serial bus (USB) port, which is fairly standard in computers today.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. With Media Player open on your computer, connect the device to your computer.

  2. When prompted, sync the device using Media Player.
