Creating Discussions

A SharePoint discussion board is a list that supports newsgroup-style dialog. Discussion boards can be as open as you like, but they also have features for managing discussion threads and ensuring that only approved posts appear.

WSS 3.0 offers new features around e-mail enabling discussion boards, which can be a great way to handle a large amount of e-mail on a particular subject or project. Project managers who receive a lot of e-mails on a particular project can set up a discussion board to manage all of these communications.
