Self-Service Site Creation

WSS 3.0 gives SharePoint administrators the option of allowing self-service site creation so that users and groups can create sites as needed. Administrators create these sites in a new site collection, and users will need to be added uniquely to these new site collections. With planning, it is possible for organizations to track SharePoint site and resource usage back to the user or their department, and to customize the sign-up page for self-service site creation to track billing or other information.
