Before You Begin

This chapter provides a complete review of the function of user profiles and their role in a Windows Terminal Server environment. In Chapter 8, “Server Installation and Management Planning,” I provided an introduction to user profiles, what types are available, and how they function. In this chapter I focus on what implementation steps should be reviewed and performed in preparation for user profile implementation, and finally, what is involved in actually creating and managing your users’ profiles in production.
