Introduction

Windows Server 2012 provides a powerful and flexible backup toolset. The backup can be configured to protect the full server, specific volumes, folders or files, and the system state. Once backups are completed, we can recover files, volumes, applications, or even the entire server.

This chapter covers setting up and scheduling backups on a Windows server. This will include on-demand backups, restoring files and Windows components, and standardizing the configuration among systems.
