The Impact of Backup on the Network

How big will an incremental backup be on your hosts or clusters, and how often will you perform that backup? Will there be gigabytes or terabytes of data flying across the network to your backup servers? If you have a huge farm, can you live with the management OS network being congested with this traffic? Remember that this is the same network connection that is used for RDP, for remote management, for monitoring, and so on. Are you still OK with massive amounts of data going across that network?
