Running a Backup to a Shared Network Folder

Windows Server Backup on Windows Server 2012 supports backups to a shared network folder. When a shared network folder is chosen as the backup destination, a system administrator can store full backups on alternate locations to allow for different recovery scenarios. Also, something important to consider is that if a dedicate disk or specific folder on a local volume is selected and is the only backup option, this offers no automated offsite backup.
