Windows Server 2012 provides two very different clustering technologies that enable organizations to create system-level fault tolerance and provide high availability for mission-critical applications and services. Although failover clusters and NLB are each characteristically different and are best deployed on very different types of applications, between them they can increase fault tolerance for almost any service or application.
