DC Promotion from Media

An ingenious mechanism in Windows Server 2012 that allows for the creation of a DC directly from media such as a burnt CD/DVD, USB drives, or tape. The upshot of this technique is that it is now possible to remotely build a DC or GC server across a slow WAN link by shipping the media to the remote site ahead of time, effectively eliminating the common practice of building a DC in the central site and then shipping it to a remote site after the fact.
