Chapter 3. Initial Configuration

Once you’ve deployed Server Core, your next task is to perform an initial configuration of your servers. Initial configuration tasks for Server Core include setting a password for the Administrator account, changing the name of the server, configuring date and time settings, configuring Internet Protocol (IP) address settings, enabling Remote Desktop, configuring Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, activating the server, and other actions. This chapter examines how to perform these various tasks for configuring a Server Core installation.
