Chapter 20. Encrypting File System
Encrypting File System (EFS) provides a method to encrypt files on a local file system in Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008. Whereas Windows 2000 and Windows XP were primarily used for local file encryption, the enhancement for EFS in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 will allow easy and consistent use of EFS on both local and remote locations.
This chapter will focus on the public key infrastructure (PKI) aspects of deploying EFS on your organization’s network.
