The Last Word

In this chapter, I discussed the Server Core edition of Windows Server 2008. Since there is no graphical shell, all administration for Server Core is done through the command line. We discussed installation, initial configuration, and management and administration.

Since Server Core is so stripped down, there isn't a lot to cover. They are essentially set-and-forget machines, which is the original concept of Server Core: to become more appliance-like than a full Windows Server 2008 installation.
