Use Session Security for NTLM

NTLM session security has been available since Service Pack 4 of Windows NT 4.0. This option allows the configuration of integrity (the messages received are exactly the same as those sent) and confidentiality (encryption). Two Security Options are available to configure session security:

  • Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) clients.

  • Network Security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including secure RPC) servers

Each Security Option can be configured with the following options:

  • Require message integrity

  • Require message confidentiality

  • Require NTLMv2 session security

  • Require 128-bit encryption

Check one or more of these options to set the requirements for NTLM ...
