Determine If the Group Policy Design Is Correctly Implemented

If the GPO is not applied, there may be a number of reasons why this is true. A number of Group Policy-related issues may prevent the policy from being applied. Often these reasons can be viewed by looking on the Summary tab or the Group Policy Results report created in GPMC under the computer configuration summary or user configuration summary. The possible reasons include:

  • Security filtering— GPOs are linked to sites, domains, and OUs. By default, the GPO will be applied to the accounts that exist within these containers.
