Summary
This chapter explored two approaches for capturing still images and video. Beginning with PhotoCamera, you saw how to capture still images and display live video using the PhotoCamera’s preview buffer. You also looked at leveraging the phone’s hardware shutter button and how to create a live video effect.
The chapter then looked at the Silverlight webcam API, specifically how to use the webcam API to capture audio and video and to save it as an MP4 in isolated storage.
Finally, the chapter examined lenses, which are new to Windows Phone 8 and allow you to extend the phone’s built-in camera experience.
