Tile Sizes and Resolutions
Tile dimensions vary according to the resolution of the device. In this chapter you see the layouts and dimensions of the various tile templates presented according to the WXGA resolution setting. On devices with WVGA or 720p displays, the Windows Phone OS automatically scales tiles so that they correctly inhabit the available space.
Windows Phone 8 supports three tile sizes: small, medium, and wide. The user can choose to display your app’s primary or secondary tiles using any of the three sizes. It is therefore important to supply an image for each size. The image dimensions differ according to which tile template your app uses.
