It should go without saying that some form of an anti-virus solution is a must, regardless of whether we're talking about a home or corporate system. The proliferation of malware—viruses, macro viruses, Trojans, worms, etc.—specifically targeting Windows systems continues to grow. As new functionality is added to Windows operating systems and other Microsoft products, some way invariably is discovered to use that functionality for malicious purposes. Word and Excel documents support the use of macros, and Outlook has its Preview Pane. Multiple layers of anti-virus protection for the enterprise may prove to be most useful.
