About the Author

Harlan Carvey has been involved in information security since 1989, with an introduction to the topic during his initial military training. He served as Communications Officer in the United States Marine Corps, earning a Master’s Degree prior to leaving military service in 1997. Harlan’s background in commercial information security work includes vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, as well as incident response and digital forensics analysis, which he has performed in order to assist companies and organizations in a variety of verticals, including financial, health care, and others.
